Son of a Critch

A coming-of-age story set in St. John’s, Newfoundland of 11 year-old Mark, much older on the inside than his 11 years, who uses comedy to win friends and connect with people in his limited world.

A new school year brings new challenges for Mark including: first beer, first fight, even his first pair of jeans! The bigger Mark’s world gets, the more complicated things become.

In season 3, Mark faces a near-death experience, business ventures, and explores stand-up, culminating in a reflective night with friends before saying goodbye to middle school.

14-year-old Mark, an old soul, tries to stay true to himself in a sea of new faces in high school. Mentored by his 80-year-old grandfather, he finds that standing out is more fun than fitting in.

In its final season, Mark faces senior year as Newfoundland's cod moratorium upends his world, chasing his acting dream through first love and family change in a heartfelt goodbye to childhood.
